Security & Data

This page explains how ReclipIt protects your videos, your projects and your account. Our Privacy Policy has the full details of how we handle personal data.

Last updated: 30 October 2026

1. Your projects

Your projects, including the videos you add, the clips we create and their details, belong to your account. Other users can’t see them, and ReclipIt doesn’t publish them or post them anywhere for you.

Recently Reclipped. There is one optional exception. If you turn on “Show my clips in Recently Reclipped” on the Account page in the app, the title, channel name, public YouTube thumbnail and duration of eligible public YouTube videos you’ve clipped can appear in a public showcase on our website. The setting is off unless you turn it on, it never shows your clips or who you are, and you can turn it off at any time. Our Terms of Service, section 6.6, and our Privacy Policy, section 3, explain the details.

2. Signing in

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, or with your Google account. ReclipIt doesn’t use passwords. Sign-in and sign-in sessions are handled by our sign-in provider, Clerk.

Because a code sent to your email address is enough to sign in, keep your email account secure.

3. Who can open your projects

Every request for a project is checked against the account that’s signed in. If a project isn’t yours, ReclipIt responds as if it doesn’t exist.

We look at the content of a project only when that’s needed to run the Service, to give you the support you ask for, to handle a report or to keep the Service secure.

4. Secure connections

Connections to ReclipIt use HTTPS, which encrypts the data sent between your browser and our servers.

We also check that payment notifications really come from our payment provider before we act on them, and we use usage limits to protect the Service against abuse.

No online service can be completely secure, but we take measures that fit the risks to protect your data.

5. Payments

Payments are handled by our payment provider, Whop. You enter your card or bank details in Whop’s checkout, and they never reach ReclipIt’s servers. We receive only what we need to manage your plan, such as its status and the reference numbers Whop uses for you and your subscription. Our Billing, Cancellation & Refunds page explains how payments work.

6. Storing and deleting your videos

Your videos and clips are stored on our servers while we work on them, and they’re deleted automatically:

  • uploaded videos that you never start a generation for: 24 hours after upload;
  • source videos and their audio: 7 days after the project was last used;
  • finished clips, including free-preview clips: 30 days after each clip was created;
  • files from the YouTube downloader tool: 24 hours after they were created.

Transcripts, stories, titles and other project records are kept until your account is closed. ReclipIt isn’t a storage service, so download the clips you want to keep. Our Privacy Policy, section 9, has the full list, including how backup copies are handled.

7. Where your data is processed

Our servers are hosted in Europe (the European Union or the United Kingdom). Some of the providers that help us with our website, sign-in, payments, email delivery and AI processing are based in the United States. Our Privacy Policy, sections 7 and 8, describes the types of providers we use, where they are and how transfers are protected.

AI processing. Transcription and the writing of stories, captions, titles, descriptions and hooks are automated. For this, AI service providers process the audio and the transcript of your video. Depending on a provider’s terms, the audio and transcripts it receives may also be used to improve its models, and we can’t guarantee that all the content we send is excluded from model training (see our Privacy Policy, section 6). The AI doesn’t recognise faces or identify the people in your videos.

8. Deleting your data

You can’t delete projects or close your account in the app. To do either, email support@reclipit.io from your account email address and tell us which projects to delete, or that you want to close your account. We handle these requests by hand.

Our Privacy Policy, section 10, explains what we delete and what we must keep, for example payment records we need for tax purposes.

9. Security incidents and reporting a vulnerability

If something goes wrong. If a personal data breach occurs, we notify the data protection authority as the law requires. Where the breach is likely to put your rights and freedoms at high risk, we also inform you directly.

Reporting a security issue. If you find a security vulnerability in ReclipIt, email support@reclipit.io with the subject “Security issue”, a description of the issue and the steps to reproduce it. Please don’t access or change other users’ data, disrupt the Service, or make the issue public before we’ve had a reasonable chance to fix it. We don’t run a bug bounty programme.
